In Everland, Michael Jackson is imagined beyond the narratives that shaped his life. Beyond judgment. Beyond noise. A contemporary painting exploring vulnerability, stillness, and emotional presence.

For this piece, I found myself exploring Hindu cosmology, not from a place of religious practice, but from genuine fascination with its visual language. The intricate geometry, the balance between stillness and motion, the way each symbol carries layers of meaning. It offered a vocabulary that could hold what I wanted to express.

“Medusa Rising” (oil on canvas, 100 × 70 cm), is part of my ongoing series Beyond, a body of work that explores themes of life, death, divinity, and the mysteries that extend past the visible world.

This painting is part of my new series Beyond, where I revisit symbols and stories that transcend time. With Libertas, I leaned into the origins of the Roman goddess and the echoes of liberty through history — from ancient ideals to their reimagining in modern monuments.

Some paintings begin with a concept, while others are sparked by a single striking image. “Sensuelle” belongs to the latter.
